This year a local food bank called Gleners donates almost 100,000 dollars worth of food to the financially unstable. 5 elementry schools, 5 middle schools and 3 highschools in the plymouth canton district do fundraisers to help as well.Every Friday they collect all the food and take it too Gleners Food bank. Gleners food bank helps financially unstable families in Plymouth,Detroit,and Canton feed their families. The reason why this is so important is because food on the table helps children and families do their best in school and work.
Gleners has been seving out community since 1977. They have served almost 96,761 meals to families, and over the summer they host a program called the Hunger Free Summer. By donating to Gleners this year, our district helped feed many families this year, that might not have been able to other wise.
